A few weeks back we were finally treated with some Uncharted DLC in the form of new character skins from other popular Sony exclusives.  Now, finally we’ve been given something substantial with the new DLC map/skins/trophy pack.  For $5.99 you get a decent amount of content.  2 new maps, the Flooded Ruins and The Facility, and 6 new characters from Uncharted Drake’s Fortune including, Drake, Elena, Atoq Navarro, Eddy Raja, Gabriel Roman and Javier the merc.  On top of all that they’ve thrown in 12 new trophies and in game medals.

So how is it, you ask?  Well if you loved the Uncharted 2 Multiplayer then you’ll love this.  It’s more of the same, but the same is still good.  It’s nice to have a little more variety in character selection though the new skins offer little more than the obligatory, “Hey I remember Elena wearing that tank top”.  The maps offer a nice change of pace with a ton of new vertical exploration, moving elements, and again, the nostalgic memories from Drake’s first adventure.

My personal favorite new additions are the trophies and in game medals.  Two new trophies in particular, Made It and Gold Digger, convinced me to finally try the Survival and Gold Rush modes with Brian.  And the “I Told You I Was Hardcore” trophy will definitely present a challenge to even the toughest gamers.  Also, the new in game medals allow you to earn more money during online play which takes some of the frustration and tedium out of leveling up.

My only complaint is that I was hoping for more co-op missions but maybe that’s further down the road.  Overall if you want to extend the life of your Uncharted experience this is definitely worth the $5.99.
